The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries was launched in April 2003 as part of AIFA and became an independent trade body in March 2012. Our role is to successfully lobby Government, Treasury, FCA, the EU and other opinion formers and policymakers to ensure the regulatory and business environment is positive towards our member firms.
It is AMI's objective to play a critical but constructive role within the regulation process - offering insights from the "front line" of the market.
To deliver this objective we will work to find common ground with other trade bodies and key stakeholders – e.g. lenders, insurers and the consumer lobby and consistently make the case that although regulation of mortgage business is appropriate, it doesn't require a heavy hand.
We represent the interests of all firms and businesses with impartiality: "the voice of the broker" heard at public events and in discussions with policy makers and lender bodies.
AMI is a non-commercial, not-for-profit trade body. We exist solely to bring about a better business environment for our members, so they may better serve their clients.
We are Financial Services Expo – the biggest and best trade show for financial intermediaries, with shows across the UK.
