Financial Reporter to curate new seminar theatre at FSE London 2015

Following the success of the Financial Reporter and AMI seminar theatre at FSE Manchester, Financial Reporter is delighted to announce that it will host its first independent seminar theatre at the upcoming Financial Services Expo London, which will be held at Old Billingsgate on the 16th and 17th of September.

The Financial Reporter seminar theatre features an impressive speaker line-up and will cover a wide range of topics and issues across the specialist lending, retirement and protection industries.

Financial Reporter has worked closely with advisers and show exhibitors to promise an educational and extensive seminar line-up across the two-day show, which is fully CII CPD accredited and free to attend.

This year, DC David Knowles & DS Gavin Burton from the Met Police will be giving an interactive discussion on what identity crime is, why it’s committed, how it affects the financial services industry and the New Scotland Yard’s concept strategy to prevent it.

Other seminars across the two days include:

- A look at intermediary models of the future, how customers’ behaviour is changing, and building your business to reflect that behaviour, from Mortgage Advice Bureau’s Peter Brodnicki.

- An insight into the upcoming issues and opportunities in the buy-to-let market with Kate Faulkner.

- A session on the pension reforms – how customers have reacted, questions they have asked, and the motivations and issues from the customers, with Michelle Cracknell from The Pensions Advisory Service.

- A discussion surrounding the value of income protection, including encouraging an awareness of the uninsured, how to handle client objections, and knowing the value of income protection from Zurich’s Richard Moodey.

- A session with Richard Kateley exploring some of the research that Legal & General have carried out this year. The aim will be to show its value in helping advisers have more in-depth conversations with their clients about the need for protection.

Full details of the seminar programme are available here.

The third annual Financial Services Expo will once again be held at Old Billingsgate, in the heart of London’s Square Mile, on the 16th and 17th of September.

The two-day show will offer delegates access to a range of lenders, providers and distributors actively looking to build relationships with the adviser community. Over 70 exhibitors will appear including lenders such as Accord, Lloyds Banking Group, Halifax Intermediaries, Santander for Intermediaries, Skipton Building Society, Virgin Money, and many more.

All seminars will be Cll CPD accredited, allowing delegates to pick up CPD hours which count towards their 35 hours of compulsory continued professional development.

The AMI are hosting their own theatre, covering the mortgages sector, and Financial Reporter has brought together speakers from across the rest of the advised sales market to boost advisers’ professional development and enhance their client offering.

Rugby World Cup-winning Head Coach, Sir Clive Woodward OBE, will also be delivering the key note address to delegates on the second day of the exhibition in the AMI Seminar Theatre.

Andy Shields, Director at Barcadia Media and Financial Reporter, said:

“We were very pleased to have the opportunity to curate a seminar theatre at FSE London 2015, as we have worked closely with the show since its launch and we are uniquely placed to bring a selection of interesting and informative speakers to the show.

“We hope that it will be a perfect complement to the brilliant range of exhibitors at the show and that delegates will gain valuable insight on how to offer more to their clients in a quickly-changing industry.”

James Prosser, Director of Front Events, organisers of FSE Manchester, added:

“We’re delighted Financial Reporter will be curating one of our seminar theatres. The seminar programme covers a wide range of topics and issues which are currently ‘live’ with the advisory community.

“We are particularly pleased to have DC Knowles & DS Burton discussing identity crime within the financial services industry. Getting an insight from the Met police is a first for FSE and it will be valuable to hear their view on what is an increasingly important and difficult issue within the industry.

“Alongside the Met Police, we have a number of industry experts providing their analysis of the mortgage and housing markets, the outlook for intermediary distribution, as well as focusing on product opportunities especially within the protection and equity release spaces.

“This year is shaping up to be another period of adjustment for the financial services industry as we get ever closer to the European Mortgage Credit Directive, and it is therefore more crucial than ever that advisers stay informed about how to offer the best possible service for their customers in this new landscape.

“FSE London is, as always, designed to ensure an intermediary can access a variety of resources to boost their professional development, enhance their client offering and learn from industry experts.

“We believe any adviser, broker or intermediary will benefit from visiting the expo and we’re certain they will leave with a range of information and contacts designed to help them thrive in this new regulatory environment. We look forward to seeing you all in September!”
